Greets all! It’s great to be back. As I men­tioned in my post titled The Bizarre End to a Week Filled with Insan­i­ty, I had a lit­tle bit of trou­ble with my lap­top which was for­tu­nate­ly still under war­ran­ty. Yes­ter­day mid-after­noon, my lap­top arrived fresh­ly repaired and now run­ning great. My kit­ty Oreo also got a new box which he was quite pleased about, even if he keeps try­ing to eat the lit­tle bits of tape left on the box.

Over the past week I have been using my old­er lap­top, which still works but does have a few annoy­ing issues. First, its pow­er con­nec­tor is a bit loose and if the pow­er cord isn’t plugged in just so it loos­es con­nec­tion and has rough­ly a thir­ty or so minute bat­tery life. If the cord is wig­gled just right it usu­al­ly comes on again with­out much trou­ble but over­all once its work­ing the lap­top needs to be kept pret­ty still to work. Sec­ond­ly, I run Lin­ux on it. I use Lin­ux sim­ply because it per­forms bet­ter than Win­dows as it has less over­head. It boots faster. It responds faster and its just more con­ve­nient but there are some lim­i­ta­tions with Lin­ux when it comes to stream­ing on Dis­cord, it sim­ply does­n’t cap­ture sound at all. Myself and Embyr usu­al­ly like end­ing the day with watch­ing some shows togeth­er either from my video library or a stream­ing ser­vice and with­out me being able to stream with sound its kin­da put a ham­per on that activ­i­ty not to men­tion I’d not be able to prop up my lap­top next to my bed to watch any­thing with the pow­er issues. One solu­tion has been that Embyr could host the stream­ing on her PC but that lim­its what else she’s able to do while stream­ing, often she likes to casu­al­ly work on art while we watch things and her hav­ing to full screen the stream­ing ser­vice pre­vent­ed her from doing that prop­er­ly. Not exact­ly ter­ri­ble but more than a lit­tle annoy­ing when we want­ed to spend time togeth­er. All that is for­tu­nate­ly over for now and we have got­ten back to nor­mal again with the return of my nor­mal laptop.

In some oth­er news a friend recent­ly returned to Embyr’s Dis­cord serv­er late last week and has been rather active in shar­ing new art and con­vers­ing with every­one, she even approached myself and Embyr ask­ing if she could be our pet, basi­cal­ly for myself and Embyr our clos­er friends in the fur­ry / drag­on com­mu­ni­ties online might be con­sid­ered a pet which to us means they are clos­er than casu­al friends in that we’re more like­ly to include them in things we do togeth­er like gam­ing par­ties, movie stream­ing, or art­work we com­mis­sion or Embyr works on her­self. We’re also less restric­tive with our pets when it comes to cer­tain con­tent in art­work when it includes pets, for exam­ple, my drag­on char­ac­ter Tsar­goth very much loves being a dad almost as much as he loves doing the things required to be a dad. Embyr and I agree that nor­mal­ly Tsar would only father chil­dren for our own char­ac­ters and not those belong­ing to oth­ers. In the cas­es where Tsar does engage in inti­ma­cy with oth­ers he’d use some form of pro­tec­tion or the inti­ma­cy would be lim­it­ed in that preg­nan­cy would­n’t be pos­si­ble. With pets, there can be an occa­sion­al excep­tion. Actu­al­ly, there is a recent piece of art­work com­plet­ed by Embyr of some fun between us and our pet Sephyra (Sephy) I’d love to share.

Em also com­plet­ed a cou­ple of oth­er pieces over the past week and I must say I love ALL of them. A cud­dly nuz­zly stick­er between Tsar and Embyr and a new char­ac­ter, a child between Tsar­goth and Embyr’s char­ac­ter Nix, the result of an inti­mate encounter between the two of them in a scene depect­ed by Embyr in my Dear Diary post a month ago. 

Hon­est­ly, I’m feel­ing pret­ty good today, as I was last night. We’re hav­ing fun and good friends make the each day bet­ter. For now though I have a fair bit to do so I’ll be back lat­er. I think I might try to do a lit­tle writ­ing over this com­ing week, pos­si­bly about some of the recent artwork.
